The first rule when counting cards is to not focus on any one particular card. You are not going to make any patterns or designations on the cards. This is important because many experts believe that if you make it easy for the casino to catch on to your count, they will be less likely to take action against you.
The second rule is to track the ratio between high cards and low cards. You need to notice the ratio, and make a ratio table (or blackjack odds table) to determine your expected value. Generally, a ratio of 4:3 decks is considered good. The best way to do this is to have a number of decks in front of you. The rule of thumb is that if you divide 4 decks of cards by 3, you will have a 4:3 ratio.
The last rule is very important. When cards are dealt out, you need to bet appropriately. New cards are coming out at a rate of about every 12 orbits. By betting 12 units when the cards are coming out, you are essentially betting that you will hit the 13th card before you run into a randoser. The 13th card is the controlled increase in the cards amount – this is normally the time when you will have your up cards as well.

Now you will get a 3rd card, and your bet will be $30. If another card is dealt to the Dealer, you will have to double again, but this time, you will bet $40, because you still have 2 cards to the Dealer’s left.
